The deck, the cage, the coping.
A Miami pool deck is three jobs in one: the surface (usually travertine, marble or pavers), the screen enclosure cage above it, and the coping stones at the pool edge. We clean all three in one visit.
What’s on a pool deck in Miami.
- Mildew — the universal South Florida invader, especially in shaded corners
- Iron-staining — from well water or municipal water with mineral content
- Sun-screen residue — yes, your spray-on SPF leaves a film
- Tannin — from oak, mango, banyan if you’re under canopy
Each one needs its own chemistry. We don’t use a single “patio cleaner” — we identify the contamination and treat it.
Surface considerations.
- Travertine: porous, can’t take high pressure. Soft-wash only.
- Marble: even softer. Soft-wash with neutral pH chemistry.
- Chattahoochee: river pebble in epoxy. Tolerates moderate pressure but the epoxy is fragile.
- Concrete pavers: most forgiving. Surface cleaner works well.
- Stamped concrete: similar to driveways; surface cleaner + post-rinse.
Screen cage cleaning.
The aluminum framing oxidizes white in Miami’s salt air. The screen mesh holds mildew. We soft-wash both with a neutral cleaner — no harsh sodium hypochlorite on aluminum, because it can pit the finish. Expect 1–2 hours additional time depending on cage size.
Pricing.
- Pool deck only (≈ 400 sq ft): $179
- Pool deck + screen cage soft wash: $279
- Deck + cage + coping detail + tile line surface clean: $349
- Add Travertine sealing: $0.55–0.85/sq ft, quoted on site
We don’t restore unsealed travertine that’s been allowed to discolor for years. That’s a stone restoration job.
